Project Online is an entirely separate service that offers. (If youre looking for a hosted version of Project Server, this is it) To be clear, Project Online is NOT a web-based version of Project Professional. The view is created in project center page and goes back to project center page. Project Online is web-based, and is great for: Managing multiple projects. The terms ‘check in’ and ‘check out’ apply to enterprise projects, enterprise resources and to the Enterprise Global Template. Set permission to each project in terms of accessing, updating etc. You can then assign the task to those resources. You can add the resources to the project.
